When I first went through a split for the first time in my early twenties, I couldn't believe how much it hurt! I didn't accept that something could hurt that much (short of being skewered by a pole).
But why do they hurt so terribly? Here is some relationship advice:
Well, splits hurt so badly because of the serious feelings of being rejected that are associated with them.
When you consider it, you and your companion were likely very close, right? In several cases your partner is the most intimate relationship you have.
But when you let someone get so close to you emotionally, it can hurt extra hard when that person then rejects you. It's like tell you that despite the indisputable fact that you thought they would love you, you simply did not measure up and they kicked you to the curb knowing everything about you.
That may be very tough.
It might even be adequate to make you try and do things to vindicate yourself to your ex. Maybe you'll try to prove to your ex you're indeed an attractive person by going out and dating folks to make your ex jealous.
This is common thing that folks do, but if your goal is to save your relationship, you shouldn't do this. First off, dating folks will send a signal to your ex that you're moving on, and if you're moving on, they should too.
And, things that involve envy are only going to create petty emotions and negative feelings. Generally, these aren't what brings folk together and makes them fall completely in love.
What you need to understand is that even though you could be feeling intense emotions of refusal from the break, you continue to have the power to focus your mind on what you desire and find your own joy.
You see, even if your ex rejected you, you don't have to acknowledge that rejection. You can still enjoy your own life and discover things to be grateful for or cheerful about in your life.
Every moment, you can choose to focus your thoughts on what you need or what you don't want. Whenever you focus on what you do not want, you'll feel bad, and when you focus on what you do need, you will feel nice.
You can decide to feel great no matter what your ex does or claims by simply concentrating your brain on the positive things in your life.
